Jamie Victor,
artist and
entrepreneur, founded Knitterbug in 2004
to present elegant and luxurious hand-knit,
one-of-a-kind scarves. Each is created with the finest
high fashion yarns.
The yarns are custom or hand-dyed silks, cashmere, extra
fine kid mohair, gorgeous ribbons, and soft nylon faux
furs, to name a few.
The
fine materials and special detailing incorporated into
each scarf, along with unusual stitch patterns and color
combinations, makes it unique. Many of our patterns,
laces,
buttons
and yarns are vintage. Swarovski crystals, beads, and
pearls add extra dimensions of desirability.
These lovely scarves must be seen in order to appreciate the
amazing colors, and touched to appreciate the sensuous
textures.
Buttons are a particular signature statement—some are
fashion, many are vintage, and most are the Czech Art
Glass variety.
Each hand-pressed and hand-painted Czech Glass button is an
art piece by itself. The button makers of the small
northern Bohemian town of
Jablonec*
known as the “Glass Capital of the World” continue
methods unchanged in over 200 years. These stunning
creations are a proud tradition in the Czech Republic.
